Across Myco Decontamination and Concentration Kit is a new kit that provides a safe and easy decontamination and concentration method for the isolation of mycobacteria. It increases the recovery of mycobacteria by homogenizing sputum samples and selectively killing other microorganisms that contaminate the mycobacterial culture medium. The Across Myco Decontamination and Concentration Kit provides all materials required for each sample in separate sets. Thus, it saves time and labor and eliminates the problem of cross contamination.
Löwenstein-Jensen (LJ) Medium is used as a differential, enriched and selective medium for the isolation and cultivation of mycobacteria. LJ Medium is an inspired, egg-based medium developed from a modification of Jensen's Löwenstein formula. Löwenstein–Jensen medium is a growth medium used specifically for the culture of Mycobacterium species, especially Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Cultures should be read within 5-7 days after inoculation and then weekly for up to 8 weeks.
