ACROSS BIO GRAM (SAFRANIN) STAIN KIT

Gram stain is used to differentiate bacterial species microscopically. With this stain, bacteria are divided into two main groups as Gram Positive (+), Purple stained and Gram Negative (-), Pink stained. If it is desired to examine cells such as blood, epithelium, cells from the samples by staining with Gram stain, it is recommended to fix the smears for one minute with methanol before staining. In addition, the morphology of bacteria such as cocci, rods, clusters, and chain formation are defined.

Gram stain is used for microscopic differentiation of bacterial species. With this stain, bacteria are divided into two main groups as Gram Positive (+), Purple stained and Gram Negative (-), Pink stained. Yeast cells such as Candida can also be stained with Gram stain and are observed as Gram Positive. Lugol solution with PVP, which is used after Crystal Violet in dyeing, provides a better chemical bonding of Crystal Violet to the cell wall. Bacteria staining purple in smears stained with Gram stain are defined as Gram Positive, and bacteria stained pink as Gram Negative.
