It is used to determine the colistin sensitivity of antimicrobials to be used in the treatment of infections caused by gram-negative microorganisms with multidrug resistance. It was aimed to evaluate the performance of the commercially produced Colistin-MIC tube test in detecting colistin sensitivity in Enterobacterales and P. aeruginosa strains, as approved by CLSI. In addition, although Acinetobacter baumannii origins have not yet been confirmed, recent publications report that these bacteria can also be used in colistin sensitivity tests (especially in places with limited resources). Developed for this purpose, Colistin-MIC Tube Test (5μg) contains colistin. It is a ready-to-use cation-supported liquid medium kit in single discs.
